Also, Polysics; really cool Japanese pop-punk and noise rock band. Kind of indie, with electronic influences. I really have a thing for them. I actually picked up their CD, We Ate The Machine in Japan, but I ended up giving it to one of my friends (after ripping it, whoops).

Ugh, I was invited out for All You Can Eat Sushi, supposedly good, but due to weird circumstances we ended up arriving there too late, and alas I could not eat my unlimited supply of raw (but oh-so-elegant) fish. These circumstances also caused me to be really late for another event: my friend Kate’s yearly beach party! I look forward to these beach parties EVERY summer. According to Kate, I’ve been attending since the summer of our F1 year (grade 7), which I think is super cool.
Because of the weird circumstances (and a gracious drop off at Don Mills station - else I’d be stuck in Markham, ew) I stopped off at the Sheppard Centre and got my watch band adjusted; my friend brought me back a watch from China and it was waaaay to big for my wrists. I also stopped by the EB and said hi to someone I had met at a Dominion. I met her about a month ago while commenting on her Hush Sound shirt. She told me that she worked at the EB and that I should come visit sometime; I finally did. BUT better than all of that, I managed to find a copy of Nightwish’s Oceanborn! For $10, too! AMAZING DEAL, BECAUSE IT IS LIKE ONE OF THEIR BEST ALBUMS.
Gentlemen, I bring you… CORN August 15, 2008

So yesterday was pretty awesome. I actually showed up for work (volunteering) early/on time. That was big. I did my volunteering stuff and talked to a few people. But my biggest surprise was the fact that I was given a few ears of corn to take home. Many of the volunteer drivers who work with the Canadian Cancer Society (specifically our centre) live far away and some live on/near farms. So someone in the transportation office received a few bushels of corn. I saw a giant bag of corn, must’ve been 100 ears. I was told that there were more.
So I went home carrying some corn and pet supplies for my cat, Mike, who is moving in with me temporarily. He’s been living at my grandma’s house but he doesn’t get too much attention there. I’m just seeing if I can handle having a cat here.
Mmm. The corn was delicious. I just cooked it normally, in boiling in water. I’ll try this other technique sometime: poor man grilling.

Instead of studying for economics, I’ve been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, among other things. I have actually been studying. A bit. it’s in roughly 10 hours. Yes. I have an exam at 7pm. Really awful! Worse than having it at 9am. Well, if it were at 9am today, I’d be already late.
BUFFYYYYYYYYYY is a really fun show. I’ve gotten through the first season in about a week. Which isn’t a record or anything, given that there’s 12 episodes. Uh, wow. It’s scarier than I remember haha. If I had seriously followed Buffy when it was airing (~ 8 years old) I would’ve had nightmares. Giles is definitely my favourite character. And he’s quite fun to watch on Little Britain. Buffy is a bit cheesy at times, and it does deal with teen drama. But it’s aweeeesome. I remember watching the musical episode: Once More With Feeling. SO GOOD.
In other news… Jeph Jacques is awesome. I’ve been watching a recorded ustream of yesterday’s comic, 1207 - Dora Fights The Law. And seriously, that guy has gotten so good over the years. He’s gone from his original art style to this in about 3 years and has since been improving. His tablet work is fast and hard to follow, though that might be because of the lag on ustream and our inability to see the tablet and pen. I think I can now appreciate what goes into making Questionable Content. Check out a video of him drawing panel 2: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/630026. That’s roughly a half-hour per panel, not including text boxes and scripting. This guy is a beast.
I need to take pics of me in my two QC shirts so I can put them on the qc flickr!
Also, Battles - Atlas is a trippy song. I hadn’t heard it in so long but damn you Jeph! IT IS STUCK IN MY HEAD AGAIN.
Not enough RAM? August 11, 2008

I’ve got nothing much to post–nothing nice anyway.
Busy studying up for my ECO105 exam. I wonder if anyone went to those Ecoman sessions. He’s cheaper than Ilanko was for MAT135.
Overheard at a Wendy’s (the context was that she had trouble remembering things):
I have a short term memory
Of course you do. Maybe it was likened it to RAM and hard disk space, people might get it?
